Monday

not much chance for survival if the Neon Bible is right.

(pintucked, black jacket - Zara years ago, rock out shirt - Razzmatazz Vintage, neon skirt - Proenza Schoeler, snakeskin purse - thrift store, patent leather platforms - Tahari).

i wore this out to the West Village the other night to meet up with some school friends. we went bar hopping and had great fun! i was in one of those really good moods leaving my apartment because i knew i looked GREAT. you know those night? where you look in the mirror and you're just like, "frick yeah! feeling groovy!" i was also super amped to be wearing my PROENZA SCHOULER skirt circa the Spring 2008 collection. i found it in Beacon's Closet and literally DIED. it was $40 and it fit me. would someone splash cold water at my face?? the other awesome thing is this purse i got for $2 at a thrift store in Vancouver last time i was home. it's real snakeskin on the front and i love the way the colours coordinate with my shirt. i also die for gold hardware.

ps. sorry for the state of my bedroom. my roomies were in the living room so needless to say i decided to use the self timer behind closed doors.

(awkward pose... and expression).

(my skirt on the runway!!)

(Proenza Schouler Spring 2010 - HIGHLIGHTER COLOURS, HELLOOO!)

(Proenza Spring 2010).

(both images from Sea Of Shoes blog - Proenza Schouler booties!).

(of COURSE Susie Bubble pulls off neon green pants - photo from the Sartorialist).

(Luella Spring 2008 - sort of the look i was going for).

(amazing how classic and put-together neon yellow/green can look when done right - from Obsessee blog).

(i died for these looks).

Thursday

pick a colour, any colour.

... and we're back! haha we'll see how long this lasts. who knows, maybe this will be the post that pushes me back into blogging! so here's the scoop... as usual, i'm doing my leisurely pre-homework procrastination, and decided to check out what miss Susie was up to on Style Bubble. that's when i read about her 10-Colour-Challenge. seemed like the perfect tool for avoiding my piles of work for at least another half hour, so i headed to my closet to see what i could come up with. anyone that knows me is fully aware that i am NOT afraid of colour: both in my wardrobe and my designs. however, pulling out solid coloured pieces? no prints or patterns? herein lies the true challenge.

here's what i came up with! (thanks to Joy for her
awesome camera and photography skillz).

(fyi, clearly this is not my room because needless to say... it was covered in clothes post-creation of this outfit).

(silk blouse - vintage Prada, sweater - thrifted in Vancouver, yellow shorts - thrifted in Montreal, brand: Sex Magick (yup), orange tights, brick red over-the-knee socks - American Apparel, shoes - Charlotte Ronson, coat - thrifted at the Salvation Army, purple suede purse - thrifted at the Garage Flea Market in Chelsea).
